I'm Back!

So I know I have been a total slacker when it comes to posting, but I will try to do better over the next month, I promise! Since my last post, we have had a busy month! Kristy (from my last post) had a baby boy!! It was a long wait...but baby Abraham finally arrived and he is as cute as can be! We also celebrated Thanksgiving since our last post. Unfortunately, Ben had to work Thanksgiving and the day after, so we had to rush around going to my family and his. But, we are thankful for his job and all the blessing that God has given to us thus far.

For some reason this year, it has taken me a while to warm up to the idea of the Christmas season. Decorating, buying gifts, the business of the season...all of it just didn't sound fun for a while. But I put up our tree, have shopped a little and I can safely say I'm in the Christmas spirit now!!

I found this fun, little tree at Target...I just had to buy it for my desk at work!

We unexpectedly had to replace our toilet and the floor...this is the finished product.

Our department at work was in charge of the secretary's Christmas party this year. These are two of the ladies in my office...the one with the antlers would be my boss : ) I'm sure she will love having this picture on my blog. We had a Christmas-movie themed party...it was a good time!

Baby Shower

Happy Monday : ) Well I finally got pictures from Kristy's baby shower. I just thought I'd share some of them. We had a polka dot themed shower (colors for either a boy or girl). Mom made the awesome diaper cakes. One large one for the food table and little ones for each round table. We had a good time and Kristy got a bunch of stuff! She has one month to go...I'm excited : )

we're still here

Hello all! I'm just checking in to say hello...and we are still around! I haven't been posting much lately because 1. We've been busy with working and 2. There hasn't been much news to post about! Ben and I are both doing well, luckily the only sickness in our house has been head colds.

I was planning on taking pictures of Kristy's baby shower from a couple Sundays ago...but I totally forgot to bring my camera...so unfortunately no pics for now. I'll try to get some from mom. We had a good time and I'm so excited for baby Baker!

So I have become a big fan of online shopping! I recently discovered overstock.com. Can I just say...I love this website??!?! I know it's been around for a while, but I had no idea how much I would love it! We had been wanting to get a down comforter for a while, and I found one on there that worked out great and wasn't ridiculously overpriced...I was pretty excited. One of the best parts for me is getting to read reviews of the product...I found it so helpful! Anyway...I don't know if anyone else is a fan of this site...but I just had to share the joy : )

Water dogs

We took the dogs out to the river yesterday just to let them play and swim. Trooper absolutely LOVES the water and being in it...Bella, however, not so much. I just thought I'd share some pictures of the outing : )

Labor Day : )

Yes, I know it's been a while since my last post...but I'm here now for an update. There really hasn't been too much going on these days, it just seems like all we do is work! This past week at work we were audited...and let me just state for the record, this was my first audit ever and it was NOT a pleasant experience. I pretty much want to forget the week ever happened. But anyway, today is Labor Day and Ben and I both have the day off!!! That hasn't happened in a while, so we're pretty excited to spend the day together. We don't have any plans...but that is just find with me!

Over the weekend, mom and I went shopping for Kristy (due with baby Baker very soon!) and can I just say that I love looking at baby clothes?!? Seriously...there are just some really cute things! And not only clothes, but tons of baby inspired stuff for showers which I will be throwing for her soon too :) I'm excited!

Well I guess that's all for now, hopefully I'll keep with my posts a little better this month!

August already??!

So I can't believe it's August! This summer has flown by (and I do not like it). I mean, don't get me wrong, I love fall, but it doesn't even seem like I've had a summer! Oh well...we're still trying to enjoy some summer things. We have been grilling a ton! Ben's days off fell on Friday and Saturday this week, so we spent both days relaxing and eating! We had our first watermelon of the summer and it was delicious!! I think watermelon is one of my favorite foods.

On another note, have I mentioned that we love our dogs? They are basically like children...I've heard they are good preparation? We gave Bella a bath two days ago, and I just went and checked on them both outside...and Bella seems to have mud all over her neck and legs. The fact that Westie's are white in color just seems backwards...because my Westie is rarely white. Anyway my post wouldn't be complete without pics of our pups : )

Happy Birthday Ben!

Happy Birthday!!!!

We are celebrating Ben's 26th birthday today! He actually has to work tonight, but we had a chance to get some dinner at the Cove in Sweetser (which he loves). We just got home and are getting ready to watch Gran Torino....I've heard it's pretty good??

Anyway, we have been doing well lately. Ben took some time off recently and went camping in Canada for a week. He had a blast (although I didn't enjoy his time away as much). It seems like the summer just got started yesterday...but it'll be August soon...time is flying!! Well all for now!
